CARDIOVASCULAR & THORACIC SURGERY
The Department of Cardiovascular & thoracic surgery at Apple Saraswati, is the first privately run facility from South-West Maharashtra. The department is looked after by fulltime Cardiothoracic Surgeon. It is provided with 6 bed state-of-the-art Intensive Thoracic Unit which is equipped with advanced instruments & trained Intensivists & paramedical staff.
The Department is equipped with advanced Heart Lung Machine, IABP, Anaeshtesia Machine and many other ultramodern OT equipments.
The Team
Cardiovascular & Thoracic surgery Team consists of a full time highly experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon & a highly trained assistant surgeon and nursing staff. The round the clock availability of the team ensures immediate surgical treatment is provided to patients who requires urgent surgeries. All cardiac surgeries are done with excellent results. CABGs are done using ‘BEATING HEART’ techniques. Advanced Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgeries (MICS) are also available. Post operative patients are shifted to Intensive Thoracic Unit (ITU) which is equipped with advanced equipments & dedicated medical & paramedical staff. Each bed in ITU is equipped with Invasive multipara monitor, syringe pumps, invasive ventilator, defibrillator & is attended by a dedicated nurse allotted to every bed. Trained Intensivists and medical officers are available round the clock in ITU
Procedures
The procedures available in Cardiology department are as follows,
Coronary Bypass Surgeries (Beating heart), Valve replacements (Aortic,Mitral & Double), ASD/VSD Closures, PDA ligation, Aortic surgeries, Peripheral vascular surgeries, pulmonary & peripheral embolectomy, Thoracotomies.
MINIMALLY INVASIVE CARDIAC SURGERY (MICS) – Minimally Invasive Coronary Artery Bypass , Minimally Invasive valve replacement & Minimally invasive congenital heart surgeries (ASD/VSD closures)
